Description

You are hereby invited to experience the interactive and transformational 2-Day Search Inside Yourself program (practicum).

Don't miss out on this special opportunity to attend the full 2-day program in English. The standard price for these workshops in Japan is often more than ¥100,000 for the full weekend, but as it is her final practicum before full certification, Hitotsubashi ICS Alumni Kathleen Choo is able to offer her workshop, this one time only, pro bono. This means that we are able to bring you Kathleen all the way from Malaysia to offer you the full SIYLI program, in English with Japanese support, for an incredibly discounted rate of less than ¥30,000* (super early bird registration price). *The fee is to cover all expenses and honorarium. This course is identical to the full 2-day SIYLI program, covers the exact same material, and includes the same activities and exercises. Also, just as with the regular course, all participants will be sent a copy of the course content slides and the full 28-day follow-up exercises to their registered emails after course completion.

Kathleen is a full-time Mindfulness Trainer & Facilitator in Malaysia. First introduced to mindfulness at 18, Kathleen believes in a simplicity of approach that makes the practice as easy as possible; suitable for people from any background and at any level of experience. She teaches a wholly secular practice, developed over the decades of a personal journey into mindfulness traditions which took her as far afield as Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Korea, and Australia. Kathleen’s 20-year investigation into mindfulness traditions has been put into practical application in developing personal resilience under high-stress, disruptive workplace conditions; constantly dealing with rapidly shifting expectations and industry change. She delivers a gentle sense of humor alongside analytical thinking, helping learners internalize mindfulness concepts and practices with clarity; and easily integrate these into everyday life, to enhance personal resilience for sustainable peak performance.

Why Search Inside Yourself (SIY)

Born at Google and based on neuroscience, the SIY program teaches skills & tools that lead to sustained peak performance, strong teamwork collaboration, and effective leadership. SIY increases self-awareness, empathy, communication and resilience.

All of these help create positive emotional and mental states for greater stress resilience, productivity, effectiveness, life satisfaction and happiness.

The program includes sessions on mindfulness (the science of being present), self-awareness (understanding your thoughts, emotions and habits), self-management (skillfully managing your impulses and reactions), motivation (aligning your values and work), empathy (understanding others’ feelings and experiences) and leadership (influencing with compassion).

The mindfulness and emotional intelligence skills you'll learn will help you:
● Experience greater well-being, resilience and stress management.
● Improve performance, collaboration and empathy.
● Increase effectiveness and decision-making capacity.
● Cultivate innovative, creative thinking.

At the heart of Diversity Dojo is our aim to inspire, connect and empower people. Diversity is our foundation, our starting point; people in our community, from a beautiful array of cultural and professional backgrounds, come together at our venue, our “dojo”, for immersive learning and practice. Diversity Dojo attracts people who embrace a growth mindset and gather to connect and learn through experiential activities, discussion, experimentation and collaboration.

WHAT DO WE DO?
Each month, we host a different professional, or group of professionals, who wants to share their knowledge and skills to build awareness, cultivate understanding, improve communication, and facilitate collaboration. The focus is on tools and methodologies that inspire and empower people in the areas of creativity & innovation, conflict transformation, management, leadership, organizational development, and more. We also hold awareness building events and social innovation events where people come together to share their diversity of knowledge and skills to empathize, brainstorm and prototype ideas to work towards solutions.

Events that we host aim to be experiential and harness diversity. They promote self-efficacy, cultivate self-awareness and awareness of important topics in the realm of business and social innovation, foster meaningful and effective communication, build relationships, inspire creativity, spark innovation and motivate shifts in mindset. And since we hope to inspire positive and meaningful growth and change, clear and actionable takeaways are mainstays.

WHO DO WE SERVE?
We serve a diverse community of professionals from the Greater Tokyo Area- wonderful, sincere, and open-minded people who value lifelong learning, personal and professional growth, effective communication, and meaningful connections.
